About Me
My Style
I work in a relational style, aiming to build a strong relationship as the foundation of therapy. It is so often a struggle to find relationships that allow us to open up and really hear and meet our needs. As a result, I try to notice things like body language, tone and instinct to understand what is happening but also to make sense of what may have happened in the past. I like to work with the stories and scripts of life, those repeating patterns that seem hard to break through. I believe exploring these can shed light on the reasons why someone can get stuck. I am non-judgmental and pride myself on not being shocked or surprised by anything. I think it is essential a person has a space where they can say anything without fear of being judged.
Professionalism and Experience
I am an accredited Psychotherapist accredited with the NCPS and am MBACP registered. I have completed a Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent's University, London. In addition, I've been working with clients for over 2 years and have worked in the youth sector mentoring young people for around 10 years prior.
Why is Therapy Important?
Where else are you going to find someone to talk to about all the things that no one else can make any sense of? Therapy is necessary to unpack the story of our lives and give some meaning to who we are today. Often, the fear of judgement or just the realities of time means this exploring doesn't happen. I hope that therapy with me can support this exploration.
